This “mélard” from the Auvergne stands out with its rich green flamed finish and glaze.
The lead varnish enhances and beautifies this old oil jar. Walnut oil used to be burnt for lighting purposes.

The lead varnish has remained intact and brings out the exquisite green tinted glaze.
