Two Twisted Walnut Columns – 18th Century – Midi-Pyrénées – [ME105]

These two imposing twisted columns with double fluting, made of walnut, originally dated back to the 18th century and were placed at the base of a grand staircase in the entrance hall of a public building in the Midi-Pyrénées region. They were removed during the renovation of the said building and are now ready to grace a private residence or serve as a film set, emphasizing the monumental aspect of a staircase or acting as pedestals to showcase art sculptures.

Each twisted column, crafted with helical turning, features the unique combination of a thick main fluting and a much finer secondary fluting, giving the whole structure both strength and delicacy combined.
