The mix of wood species, in this case walnut, oak and elm, evokes a short circuit, ecological production ahead of time. In fact, the peasants stored, in anticipation of an important family event such as a marriage or the birth of children, beautiful planks from the different trees in their forest. When the time came, these duly dried boards were given to the carpenter.
This type of country buffet was very popular in the 19ᵗʰ century.
