This dresser is called “sauteuse” because of the height of its feet slightly curved. Rarissime because of its small intimist proportions, it sports at the same time very rich Regency patterns designed by Jean Bérain, an ornamentalist of the eighteenth century who was able to print his style on all the decorum of his time: furniture, earthenware, trumeaux, chimneys, mirrors, etc.
